Introduction

This year, our transition arrangements look rather different than normal as we are unable to hold our usual transition events. However, we realise that these are more important than ever at this time. Usually, your child would spend time with their new teacher and class and you would have the opportunity to meet with the teacher yourself and come to a meeting about next year.

Your child’s new teacher will be in contact with you to introduce themselves, to let you know what is planned and to provide you with information about life in their class. They have also produced information about your child's new class (much of which has also been posted home) which you can find here under the relevant Key Stage.

At the start of a new academic year, it is natural that you or your child may have concerns and this year, more than ever, this is likely to be the case. If you need to see any of the staff, please do not hesitate to arrange an appointment once we return to school. The majority of anxieties are easily addressed and reassured to enable your child to continue along the happy and successful journey at Alverton that they have enjoyed this far.

We continue to regularly review our plans and respond to the wider situation and, if there are any changes to our arrangements, we will let you know as soon as we can.
