Wizarding World of Alverton

Following a fantastic term finding out about all things Harry Potter, our Key Stage 2 children held an exhibition to share their learning with their parents, family and friends. From moving portraits to Dementors, potions to wands or Mandrake cupcakes to chocolate frogs, this was a true celebration of the children’s fabulous work.

One of the aspects of REAL Projects that we particularly enjoy is the end-of-term exhibition. The children have had a great time over the last three days working in groups made up of pupils from across Key Stage 2 to create their own version of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and more.

Mrs Wicks, our Deputy Head, said, “As usual, the children worked extremely hard to produce and lead a wonderful event. Seeing the younger children, in particular, work and speak so confidently was really impressive.” For Mrs Dennison, who joined us this year, this was her first experience of an exhibition on this scale. She said: “The children at Alverton are so lucky! This was incredible – all the staff and children came together to create something amazing. Alverton School is a great place to be!”

Support for the event was overwhelming, both in respect of the number of family and friends who came along and in their lovely comments and appreciation of everyone’s efforts.

Many thanks go to everyone involved, both children and staff who work so hard across the term to make sure that your children enjoy an exciting and inspirational time at school.
