Welcome to our information page for parents of children who will be starting school in Choughs and Robins classes in September. We will be updating the page on a regular basis and hope that you will find it useful.
Below you will find a short video made by year 6 pupils about our school and what they have loved and are going to miss about Alverton.
There is also a video from our Headteacher, Mr Higgs, welcoming you to our school community.
There is a slide show presentation which includes lots of information about starting in reception class and what to expect.
Class teachers will also be posting video messages here for the children to watch so that they can become familiar with some of the adults in their new class.
We are aware that this is an unsettling time for everybody and must be especially daunting for parents of children who are new to our school community. If you feel that there is something we are missing that could help allay any fears and address any questions for other parents please don't hesitate to contact the school and let us know- we're all learning how to navigate this new educational landscape and want it to be as informative and reassuring as possible for our parents.
We wish you and your families good health and best wishes,
The Early Years Team

Hello Choughs and Robins,
We hope you are all well and are enjoying this beautiful sunshine! We have been busy at school preparing your classroom ready for September and we can’t wait to meet you all soon. Today we are reading you a story called ‘The Koala who could’. Can you spot all of the animals in the story? Maybe you could try something new during the summer holidays and share it with us when you start school....
Until next time, take care, stay safe and sending lots of love from us both.
Miss Hooton & Mrs Daylak
