Friends of Alverton School (FOAS PTA)

Hello and welcome to FOAS.

Who are we?

All parents, grandparents, carers and staff are automatically members of Friends of Alverton School, and we’d love you to come and join us.

What do we do?

Our aim is to enrich the children’s time at Alverton School by providing extra resources.

We run fun events that the whole school community can enjoy, such as the Summer and Christmas fairs, discos, and the Duck Race, and we also raise money for extra resources for the children through, for example, Bags2School, tea towels and Christmas cards.

What we contribute

The money raised is spent on items or experiences that benefit all the children in the school, to help make their time here even more fun and exciting, while supporting their education.

We have helped to fund the refurbishment of the library, the redesign and decoration of the playgrounds, and are currently fundraising for the school's new Music Room. We also subsidise some school trips to make them more affordable for families.

How you can join us

Helping at FOAS events benefits all the children. If you’d like to join in, or if you have a request or ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you!

We are always grateful for any help at events, such as serving refreshments, selling tickets, and helping with stalls or fundraising activities and ideas.

We hold very friendly, informal gatherings at school to plan events (usually with tea and biscuits). Everyone is welcome – for dates, please ask the school office or a committee member, or email us.
