The School Day

Our School Day

Reception to Year Six
The school day begins at 8.45am for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, with the doors opening at 8.30am and ends at 3.15pm. The school is therefore open for 32.5 hours to each pupil in a typical week.

Breakfast Club
Breakfast club is available, at a charge of £2.50, between 7.45am and 8.30am.  This can be booked, in advance, through the office or just drop in.

Morning Break
All Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils have a 15 minute break each morning. A piece of fruit is supplied for each child in EYFS and KS1 through the county fruit scheme. Key Stage 2 children can bring a healthy snack or buy something to eat from our healthy tuck shop.

Lunch
The whole school breaks for lunch between 12.15pm and 1.15pm.

Afternoon Playtimes
Key Stage 1 have a break in the afternoon between 2.30pm and 2.45pm.

Drop-off and collection
At the beginning of the school day children in the Reception classes (Curlews and Kittiwakes) should be brought to the external classroom door (near the main school entrance). All other children (Year One and above) should enter through their classroom or workspace door as advised.

At the end of the day, children should be collected from the same place that they were dropped off in the morning.

After School Clubs
If your child is attending an after school club you will receive a letter detailing the time it will finish and where your child should be collected.

Getting to and from school.
Walking is certainly the best option. We also have bike racks where bikes and scooters can be stored. If you must arrive by car, please park considerately.

Woodlands Nursery
The nursery has two sessions daily, 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and provides care from 8am to 6pm. Please enquire when you visit, or contact the Nursery on 01736 351135, for more details.
