At Alverton Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of all our pupils, parents and staff. We understand that everyone experiences challenges in life that can make us vulnerable and, at times, anyone may need additional support in some way.
Since January 2021, our Friday News have a Weekly Wellbeing page in most newsletters which can be found here Friday News 2020 - 2021.
If you have any worries about your child's emotional behaviour or wellbeing, please let us know. There may be things we can do to help and support you.
The Every Mind Matters website from the NHS offers expert advice and practical tips to help look after your own and your child’s mental health and wellbeing as well as help support others such as friends and family.
Young Minds – supporting young people’s mental health.
"The Headstart Kernow - Start Now website is a partnership programme that aims to support young people to develop their resilience and mental well-being. It’s led by Cornwall Council and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. HeadStart Kernow’s Start Now website was created by young people for young people. It includes a range of advice and guidance to help young people in Cornwall understand what mental health is and how they can look after theirs.”
The mind.org website has lots of information about how physical activity can help your mental health and tips for choosing an activity that works for you as well as information about how to overcome anything that might stop you from becoming more active.
Get Active Cornwall is also a great website full of helpful information including what’s going on in Cornwall.
The NHS website has a wide range of links and information to help you support your own, and your family’s mental health.
MindEd for Families is an online resource providing evidence-based advice and information for family members or caregivers concerned about their child's mental health.
